The LUNA Chix return to the Kenda BikeFest, presented by Dirt Rag!

Hancock, MA - May 5, 2008 - The snow is scarcely off the ground in western Massachusetts but already the pro rider roster for this summer's 14th annual mountain bike festival - The Kenda BikeFest, presented by Dirt Rag- is heating up with the addition of the LUNA Chix including both Alison Dunlap and Jimena Florit. Always a Festival favorite, the LUNA Chix will be offering a little something for everyone this year by featuring both women's-only and open clinics and rides. Alison Dunlap will lead a Beginner Women's Skills Clinic on Saturday morning followed later in the afternoon by Beginner ride that also features Jimena Florit - where festival riders can put their newly learned skills to the test. The LUNAs will also be leading Intermediate clinics, and rides all throughout the weekend along with autograph signing sessions and appearances at their Expo booth. Festival Event Director Joan Hanscom says, "We're so happy to have the LUNA Chix returning this year. They are a great group of women and it's a tremendous opportunity for us to work with these really gifted, top-level professional athletes who also appreciate the simplicity of having fun on the bike and the opportunity to get other people involved in the sport they love."

Now the proud mother of twin sons, Florit who has competed in 2 Olympic Games, 3 Pan-American Games, and 9 World Championships, won 4 NORBA Championships (XC and Short Track), and is Pan-American Gold medalist, says she "is thrilled to be attending the Kenda BikeFest - I really enjoy getting out with other riders, staying active and sharing my experiences and knowledge with other folks who love riding. I am so thankful to be representing the LUNA Women's MTB Team, to have their support and to have opportunities to do things like the Festival." Equally excited to be returning to the Festival for another summer weekend is Alison Dunlap. Dunlap, whose career lists World Championships victories, PanAm game gold medals, multiple National Championships, World Cup victories in both Cross Country and Cyclocross says, "I love coming to the Festival. I really enjoy coaching and the opportunity to teach both men and women about riding - technique, climbing, descending, cornering - all the fundamentals of cycling that you don't need to be a racer to appreciate or benefit from. Plus it's just a really, really fun weekend and a chance to camp out and reconnect with folks I haven't seen in a year."

Fezzari Performance Bikes today announced the formation of their National Race Team that will compete in gravity events around the US and around the world. The team will compete in downhill, dual slalom, and super D events aboard Fezzari racing bikes.

The Utah-based firm Fezzari (www.Fezzari.com) has been developing a new, state of the art, downhill bike with its factory riders over the past year. The result is the new Widows Peak complete with Fox 40, RockShox Vivid, and DeeMax wheelset. You can’t keep a world cup level rig like that in the showroom so the new Fezzari National Race Team was born to showcase the new bike on the gravity race circuit. The team will consist of the past Masters World Champion and current pro, Dave Beeson, semi pro’s Ben Craner and Damon Kirchmeier. In addition to a World Championship, this group holds numerous national titles, NMBS wins and silver and bronze medals from the Masters World Championships.

“I am really stoked to be riding the Widows Peak this season,” Beeson said. “We have hammering this thing for months and I am really pleased with what we were able to put together working with Fezzari Bikes.”

The National Team will be racing a variety of events including the NORBA NMBS and the Mountain States Cup. The Team will also represent the US this year in France at the Masters World Championships.

“I can really fly on this rig,” said Craner “To nail a third in Semi Pro at Boulder City when it was my first time on a bike this year speaks volumes about the bike’s capabilities.”

Fezzari Performance Bikes is a high performance bike company that carries a full line of mountain and road cycles. Fezzari is dedicated to exceeding your expectations in performance, customization, and value. You can find them at the races or on the web at www.Fezzari.com.
