We recently had a chance to talk with Davis Carver of Carver Bicycles in effort to get the low down on what’s cooking for the 2007 season. Here’s what he had to say:
For the past couple years, we’ve been getting the same call once or twice per week. It goes something like this…
“I really like my 96er, but I miss the compliant ride of a titanium bike.”
Well, we’re with you! Aluminum is a great material in terms of performance and cost, but there’s nothing quite like the ride of ti. Not only that, titanium is the most durable frame material out there.
So we haven’t been just putting you off when we told all of your callers to hang in there. We are now proud to offer a titanium version of our 96er!
So as not to get totally technical, here are some of the high points.
- · 3/2.5 aerospace seamless tubing with X rayed welds
- · 3.2 pounds in the 17” size
- · S bend seat and chainstays for heel and tire clearance
- · Customizeable! Want a full 29er? 3 bottle bosses? Doughnut holder braze-on? Most options are no cost, or a very slight upcharge, and about a 4 week lead time.
- · A retail price of $995.00!
- · Sizing from 13” to 25”, as well as custom sizing.
Excited? I know we are. To get your gloves on the new Titanium Carver 96’er head on over to www.carverbikes.com
